What is it?
This is a truly wonderful use of Excel. In fact, possibly the best I have ever seen. The following quadratic-related topics are covered:
1. Factorising Quadratics
2. Simplifying Quadratics Fractions
3. Solving Quadratics (Factorisation)
4. Completing the square
5. Quadratic Equation
6. Key points of a quadratic curve
7. Plotting Quadratics
And because this has been designed on Excel, there is the ability to generate an infinite number of questions, and have all the answers available at the click of a button. Simply amazing stuff.
How can it be used?
I made much use of this resource in the build up to GCSEs with my Year 11 class. It was so easy to simply project the Excel sheet on the board, click through a few iterations until I found just the questions that I wanted, set the students loose on them, and then display the answers so they could make their own work. And even nicer than this, several students requested that I email them their own copy so they could use the resource at home! Come September, this will also form an essential part of the co-ordinate geometry work I do with my AS maths class studying for Core 1.
Thank you for sharing!
