Upcoming Events (featuring me!)

SEAMC 2013
Bangkok - February 28th to March 3rd 2013- click here for details

Mr Barton is an Advanced Skills Mathematics teacher in the Bolton area. A few years ago, Mr Barton was fortunate enough to be granted a one year secondment to visit sunny Australia. He had three aims for his trip:

1. To build this website
2. To experience what it is like to teach in the land Down Under
3. To get a sun tan for the first time in his life

Mr Barton achieved two of these aims.

Mr Barton is a firm believer in the effective use of ICT to enhance both the teaching and learning of maths, and that there's no better resource than a free one, and these beliefs very much form the ethos of the site.

Mr Barton has written two textbooks with accompanying CDs, which aim to help A Level students and teachers make the most out of Autograph.

The Teacher Demonstrations book provides teachers with step by step guides how to introduce 15 topics in an interactive and dynamic way.

The Student Investigations book provides students with 10 interactive, challenging investigations to push them to their mathematical limits.

Your granny may also enjoy these books.

Below are a couple of videos of Mr Barton talking about his Autograph Activities textbooks. He has since purchased new shirts, ties and glasses.

Mr Barton is also the Secondary Maths Advisor for the TES, a qualified Master Autograph trainer and has delivered very well received talks and workshops at many events, including the following:
— TSM Residential Workshop
— Putting Maths on the Right Track, York
— Hertfordshire Maths Conference
— South East Asia Maths Competition
— The Liverpool Primary Conference
