Maths Christmas Activity 2014 – TES Maths Resource of the Week 60

What is it?

Two years ago, we had The Pirate Game. Last year it was The Lobster Game. What is the essential, must-use activity in your maths classroom in the final week before Christmas for 2014… it is… drum roll please… James Bond in The Museum of Numbers.

This a lovely set of four puzzle competitions, testing a whole range of logic and mathematical deduction that could get your students in the mood for Christmas whilst also keeping their brains ticking over.

How can it be used?

The instructions are pretty self-explanatory. We are planning to launch this as a whole school competition at the start of the final week of term. We will display each day’s offerings on the notice board in the maths corridor and also email copies around for form tutors. Students will submit their answers to our Numeracy Co-ordinator, Santa Gareth, who will award points for accuracy, explanations and festive flair, before announcing a winder from each group during assembly on the final day of term.

Lovely stuff!

Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas!
