Fractions and Decimals – Guess the Misconception

Last week we looked at Tree Diagrams, and something very exciting happened! The most common misconception, as predicted by teachers, did not match the most common misconception held by students. (see last week’s results). This is exciting, as it means we can really learn something, and hopefully improve the learning and understanding of our students.

This week we take a look at a lovely fractions and decimals question.

Can you predict the most common way students went wrong with this one? Get your votes in, share with your colleagues and students to see what they think, and the answers will be revealed next week!
