What is it?
We are fast approaching crunch time with exam classes, so it is absolutely crucial that we make the most of those final few lessons. TES is often awash with top quality GCSE revision resources, but equivalent A Level ones are a lot harder to come by. So, you can imagine my delight when Ii came across this little beauty, and its associated resources. Here we have a collection of all past Core 4 Edexcel Exam questions, neatly arranged into topic areas, complete with mark schemes, all on one love (massive) PowerPoint. And there are equivalent resources for Core 1, 2 and 3, and even the Statistics 1 module.
How can it be used?
I have used this in two ways. Firstly, there is the “Core 4 Lottery”. Students take it in turns to select a topic area, a year and a question number, I project the question up on the board, give them a time limit, and then away they go. Then they either mark it themselves using the mark scheme, or mark a friend’s answer. I find this adds focus and pace to revision lessons that might otherwise drag. Incidentally, I do this with past paper questions from my mrbartonmaths website as well. And then secondly, each of my students has a copy of these PowerPoints to use at home for their own revision. They run beautifully on ipads and even phones. Oh, and we do AQA A Level, but I have found this resource invaluable.
